Practical Training Scheme (PTS)
PFM students in their third year of study undertake a minimum of 9 weeks of Practical Training which is usually held at the end of the second semester. The practical training will allow students to apply the knowledge gained from academic studies to practical situations and enable them to obtain essential real-life work exposure in Singapore or abroad.

The Student Exchange Programme(SEP) allows the student to gain exposure in a different cultural environment by spending one semester of study in an approved overseas university offering a similar programme. It provides students with overseas learning experience in a different cultural setting. Modules completed at overseas universities under the exchange programme will earn credits toward the NUS degree.

As an NUS B.Sc.(Honours) PFM graduate, many international and local opportunities await you. Graduates can start their career as project managers, facilities managers, contract managers or quantity surveyors among many other positions in both the public and private sector.

Project management will continue to gain significance due to strong demand spurred by vibrant economy development.

On the other hand, the facilities management sector becomes increasingly important as organisations worldwide require more new developments to enhance their productivity, efficiency and competitiveness.

In Singapore, the demand for building and infrastructure development continues to stay strong. Major upcoming public sector projects include the Ng Teng Fong Hospital with a community hospital at Jurong East and the JTC’s Medical Technology Hub at Tukang Innovation Grove.

Overseas working opportunities are also increasing, especially in developing countries such as China, India and Middle East.

PFM graduates can therefore look forward to rewarding careers in a wide spectrum of industries as they are well-equipped to make significant contributions in the entire process of project and facilities management.
