HOSPITALS
Changi General Hospital is a 757 bed hospital committed to caring for communities living in eastern Singapore. It has a total staff strength of more than 2,000 and provides specialised care in more than 20 medical and surgical disciplines. A centre of excellence in sports medicine, dermatology and geriatric medicine, CGH continues to develop its capabilities in these areas.
KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital is the only integrated women’s and children’s hospital in Singapore.The hospital offers a full range of specialised care for women, babies and children through its 300 medical specialists and the use of some of the most advanced medical technology.The hospital is a major tertiary referral centre for high-risk obstetrics, gynaecological oncology, urogynaecology and paediatric open-heart surgeries. It is also a teaching hospital affiliated to the National University of Singapore.
Singapore General Hospital is the largest acute tertiary hospital and national referral centre in Singapore. With 1,518 acute beds and a pool of 599 specialists, the hospital treats about 74,000 inpatients and 640,000 outpatients yearly. Through its 29 specialties, SGH is also a centre of medical education and research for innovative treatments, capitalising on its multi-disciplinary capabilities and research affiliations to augment care delivery to patients. The National Cancer Centre Singapore is a one-stop specialty centre offering a holistic range of clinical services to patients including clinical and basic research on cancer treatment.The collaborative efforts of NCCS' multi-disciplinary teams of professionals have benefited our patients and their families. NCCS and its nexus of hospitals treats about 69% of cancer patients in the public sector and we regularly carry out programmes to educate the public on the latest in the prevention and treatment of cancer.
The National Dental Centre is Singapore’s national centre for specialist oral healthcare services. The Centre has 316 staff members, 91 fully equipped dental operatories and a day surgery centre with six operating theatres.It caters to over 160,000 attendances yearly. Apart from patient care, it is also actively engaged in teaching and clinical research. NDC aims to set the standard for the practice of dentistry in Singapore.
The National Heart Centre Singapore is a 185-bed national referral centre for cardiovascular medicine in Singapore, providing comprehensive preventative, diagnostic, therapeutic and rehabilitative cardiac services. Over the years, the Centre has gained an international reputation for its outstanding clinical services, research and medical advances.
The National Neuroscience Institute is the national and regional specialty centre for diseases of the nervous system.The Centre coordinates and provides clinical neuroscience training and conducts basic and clinical neuroscience research. It is one of the few centres in Asia capable of participating in international clinical trials for new medication. NNI also provides clinical neuroscience services to various hospitals in Singapore.
Singapore National Eye Centre spearheads and coordinates the provision of specialised ophthalmological services in Singapore, with emphasis on quality education and research.The Centre currently manages 250,000 outpatient visits, 14,000 major operations and 13,000 laser procedures annually. The Centre provides a comprehensive range of specialised eye services in nine subspecialties and has a network of branches and affiliated services at Changi General Hospital, KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital and Mt Elizabeth Hospital.
