I. Application and Selection Process
  1. When can I start applying? When is the closing date?
    Applications are open all year round.

  2. How do I apply for the PUB Sponsorship?
    To apply for the PUB Sponsorship, please visit the BrightSparks portal.

  3. What results should I use to apply for the PUB Sponsorship?
    For the Part Time Degree Full and Co-Sponsorship, you may submit your cumulative GPA for the first 5 semesters first. Thereafter, please update the application form with cumulative GPA results of all 6 semesters.

    For the Final Year Diploma Sponsorship, you may submit your cumulative GPA for the first 4 semesters first.

  4. What are the eligibility criteria for the PUB Sponsorship?
    The PUB sponsorship is open to Singapore Citizens or Permanent Residents with a Diploma in Engineering or Water Technology with outstanding academic results and a noteworthy CCA record.

  5. What do you look out for in a PUB Sponsorship awardee?
    Besides strong academic results and noteworthy CCA records, we look for people who display good character, intellectual capacity and leadership quality. We also look for people who possess good interpersonal and communication skills and are keen to join us to work in the water industry. If you have what it takes, you are what we want.

  6. Do I need to secure a place at the university before applying for the Part Time Sponsorship?
    No, you may apply for the university and the sponsorship concurrently.

  7. If I'm going for my national service (NS), do I apply after I've completed NS?
    You can submit your application in the year you are due to complete your NS or after you have completed your NS.

  8. Can I defer my NS?
    No.

    Part Time Engineering Courses at NUS or NTU.

  2. Can I apply for the PUB Sponsorship for part time degree studies if I am on the Final Year Diploma Sponsorship?
    You may apply for the Part Time Full or Co-Sponsorship to pursue a part time degree, after you have completed your diploma studies.

III. Fees & Financial Matters
  1. What does the sponsorship cover?
    Part Time Degree Full Sponsorship, covers full course fees and all other mandatory fees.

    Part Time Degree Co-Sponsorship, covers 50% of course fees and all other mandatory fees, up to $15,000.

    Final Year Diploma Sponsorship, it covers the final year Diploma course fees and all other mandatory fees.

  2. How long is the bond?
    For Part Time Degree Full Sponsorship, the bond is 2 years.

    For Part Time Degree Co-Sponsorship, there is no bond.

    For Final Year Diploma Sponsorship, the bond is 1 year.

    Upon joining PUB as a Technical Officer, you will receive comprehensive training and build greater depth of knowledge and skills. Upon graduation from university you may be considered for an internal appointment as an Engineer, depending on your grades and organisational needs.
