Take the LTA fast track to a challenging and fulfilling career.

What can our scholars look forward to in LTA? For a start, we assign buddies (who are themselves returned scholars) to our undergraduate scholars so that they can share their common experiences and thoughts through university days. To slowly plug our scholars into the LTA experience, we also make arrangements for them to join us during their vacational attachments. We are dedicated in matching the needs of our organisation to those of our scholars through regular career counselling sessions, besides other channels such as appraisal sessions or talking to their specially assigned mentors. At the end of the day, we want to nurture and grow our talents in LTA, so that we can plan for the leadership of tomorrow.

HENRY FOO, seconded to Ministry of Transport as Senior Assistant Director
Fresh from NTU’s Civil and Structural Engineering course, I was unsure about what I wanted to do for a long term career. It was LTA that exposed me to many opportunities.

I was involved from "hardcore" technological and engineering projects such as the ERP R&D project and feasibility engineering study of future transit lines, to the "softer" side in of LTA’s remuneration framework, organising a Dinner & Dance, ACTIVE Day, sporting activities and even competitions! My experience was invaluable and immense, and I was ultimately able to identify my niche in LTA!

DIANE CHOW, Deputy Director, VRL Service Development
I attended a wide variety of management training programmes that provided essential skills to enhance my leadership skills. I also had a mentor, from the senior LTA management team, who personally guided me in making the most suitable choices of divisions for rotation.

I’ve had the privilege of being exposed to the complexities and challenges of policy formulation, management of e-Services@ONE.MOTORING, LTA’s largest IT system project to-date, and last but not least, contract administration for the Circle Line project. My LTA experience has been totally enriching and fulfilling!

ANGELINE LAM, Economist
The management is always on the lookout to give us opportunities for greater exposure. For instance, I’ve been involved in study teams both within LTA and with our sister statutory boards and parent ministry, where innovative solutions to existing problems were explored.

Also, we take part in a wide variety of activities organising internal and external LTA events and all these give us a good launching pad to network within the organisation.

Most importantly, I really like the work culture here, where my colleagues work together as a team, and our bosses are friendly and approachable!

EUGENE TAN, seconded to Public Transport Council as Secretary
As an organisation, LTA provides unique opportunities not commonly available to young graduates entering the workforce. The diverse work scope ranging from policy making, transport regulation, design and engineering, project management, safety and contracts, infocomm and corporate services can all be found under one roof.

An important aspect of working life is the people culture at the work place, and in LTA, teamwork is very important. We are also a caring, fun-loving and approachable bunch.

The successful launch of our many public projects (including community and charity projects) speak volumes about our people’s drive and energy. If you are looking for a place that is never dull and offers excellent nurturing qualities for young graduates, LTA is it.
