Amid today’s global challenges, the resilience and proactive mindset of today’s youth are truly commendable, shaping a future grounded in holistic well-being and environmental stewardship.
A recent global survey conducted by Ernst and Young in collaboration with JA Worldwide underscores the depth of understanding among Generation Z and Alpha regarding sustainability. Their quest for knowledge in this domain fuels a dedication to integrating sustainable practices into their daily lives, sparking an influential drive toward eco-conscious choice.
Here in Singapore, statistics echo this narrative. One in two actively embraces lifestyle changes to tackle climate challenges. In the same spirit of driving impactful change, Youth Corps Singapore mobilised around 6,000 youth volunteers who dedicated over 50,000 service hours to various community services in 2022. Their efforts primarily focused on aiding seniors, children, individuals with special needs and championing environmental conservation.
In this edition, we speak with young individuals eager to play their part in championing sustainability through small yet impactful actions. Additionally, we highlight volunteer opportunities for those enthusiastic about impacting their community. You’ll also read about scholars who transcend personal success, driven by an unwavering dedication to reshaping our world through their work. Whether embarking on modest projects or undertaking ambitious endeavours, they epitomise the fervent drive of a young generation committed to effecting transformative change. I hope their stories serve as an encouragement to actively engage with causes close to your heart and empower you to be a changemaker!
